MALFUNCTION

CORRECTIVE ACTION
1. Fluid emerges from ends of starter control valve when starter is operated (Cont.):
Step 2.
Check for bent shifting fork causing end of control valve to move past the
rear seal ring.
See Table 3-71. Operate the starter. If fluid emerges from the cap on the
rear of the control valve, the fork is bent and the seal ring may be damaged.
Refer to General Support Maintenance.
Restricted air inlet to the engine cylinders is caused by:
Step 3.
Check for clogged cylinder liner ports.
Remove air box covers. Clean ports in the cylinder liner. Refer to
paragraph 3-98.
