e. The Coolant System is shown in Figure 1-44. Coolant is circulated through the engine by a centrifugal-type water
pump. Heat is removed from the coolant, which circulates in a closed system, by the heat exchanger. Control of the
engine temperature is accomplished by a thermostat which regulates the flow of the coolant within the cooling system.

f. Engine starting is provided by an hydraulic starting system. Engine speed is controlled by an electrically controlled
hydraulic governor. The electric controls originate from the main switchboard.
