Install rocker arm assemblies
(4, 5, and 6) onto pushrods
(14).
i.
Screw the pushrod (14), and
locknut (3) down on the upper
end of the pushrod as far as
possible; then, screw the
pushrod into the clevis (19)
until the end of the rod is
flush with or above the inner
side of the clevis.
j.
Lubricate the cam roller and
cam follower body.
k.
Note the 1/8 inch oil hole in
the bottom of the cam follower.
With this hole pointing away
from the exhaust valves and
injectors, so that the hole
is not covered by the cam
follower guide, slide the
cam follower into position
from the bottom of the head.
l.
Attach the follower guide (9)
to the cylinder head to hold
the group of cam followers in
place using lockwashers (8),
and cap screws (7). Check to
make sure there is clearance
between the cam followers
and the cam follower guide.
Tighten the guide cap screws
to 12-15 lb. ft. torque
(16.3 to 20.3 Nm).
