24. Injector
a.
Pull the engine stop control
Timing
out to the NO-FUEL position.
b.
Rotate crankshaft until the
exhaust valves are fully
depressed on the cylinder
to be timed.
c.
Place the small end of the
injector timing gage J1853 in
the hole provided in the top
of the injector body, with
flat of gage toward the
injector follower. See figure
below.
d.
Loosen the pushrod locknut.
e.
Turn the pushrod and adjust
the injector rocket arm until
the extended part of the gage
will just pass over the top
of the injector follower.
f.
Hold the pushrod and tighten
the locknut. Check the
adjustment and, if necessary,
readjust the pushrod.
g.
Time remaining injectors in
the same manner.
