NOTE
The above step should result in placing the
governor linkage and control tube assembly
in the same position that they will attain
while the engine is running at full load.
5.
To be sure the control
lever is properly adjusted,
hold the speed control
lever in the maximum speed
position and press down on
the injector rack with a
screwdriver or finger tip
and note the "rotating"
movement of the injector
control rack when the
speed control lever is in
the maximum speed position.
Hold the speed control
lever in the maximum speed
position and, using a
screwdriver, press down-
ward on the injector con-
trol rack. The rack should
tilt downward and when the
pressure of the screwdriver
is released, the control
rack should "spring" back
upward.
6.
If the rack does not return
to its original position,
it is too loose. To
correct this condition,
back off outer adjusting
screw slightly and tighten
the inner adjusting screw
slightly.
