v. Install a 1/2"-13 X 6"
pilot stud in two of the
attaching bolt holes,
diametrically opposite
each other to support the
adaptor.
w. While supporting the
front end of the power
take-off adaptor (31) tap
alternately against the
back side of the engine
supports with a plastic
hammer to free the
adapter from the end
plate and dowel pins in
the cylinder block.
Then, slide the adapter
off of the pilot studs
and crankshaft being
careful not to damage the
oil seal (32).
x. If necessary, remove the
vibration damper hub rear
cone (33) from the
crankshaft.
y. Remove the crankshaft
front oil seal (32) from
the power take-off
adapter (31). If the lip
of the oil seal is rough
or hard, remove the oil
seal as follows:
1. Support the power
take-off adapter on
wood blocks with the
forward face of the
adapter down.
