INITIAL SETUP
Tools
Equipment Condition
Tool kit, general mechanic's,
Electrical power to pump unit turned
OFF and tagged "Out of Service - Do
T o o l kit, electrician's,
Not Operate."
Appropriate valves closed and tagged
"Out of Service - Do Not Operate."
Materials/Parts
Pump rotary unit P/N 30DR
Warning tags, Item 1, Appendix C
Close pump suction (1) and discharge (16) valves.
a.
Close pump relief valve (14).
b.
Disconnect discharge piping at union (17) on outlet side of pump.
C.
Disconnect pump relief piping at union (15).
d.
Position pipe wrench on elbow (20) for counterclockwise rotation to remove
e.
nipple (19) with valve (14) from pump.
Remove two plain hex nuts (6), lockwashers (7) and hexhead capscrews (8)
f.
securing coupling guard (9) to baseplate (12). Remove coupling guard.
Remove four plain hex nuts (3), lockwashers (4) and hexhead capscrews (5)
g.
securing shaft bracket (13) to baseplate.
Separate pump assembly (21) from motor (11) at coupling (10).
h.
Remove pump assembly.
i.
Disconnect pipe nipples (18) and (22) from pump.
j.
Change 1
