NOTE
If the gasket is shorter it will eventually
shrink, leaving a gap at the joint and
destroying the watertight integrity of the
door.
Install gasket (11) and gasket retainer (10) on door.

Install pipe sleeve (8) on door.

Install dog door closer (9) on door.
f.
Install preformed packing (4) and bronze bushings (5) on door.
g.
Install handles (7) on door.
h.
Secure handles using hex nuts (6).

Install fixed light assembly (12) on door.
j.
REPLACEMENT
Place door (1, FIGURE 2-168) in position on frame.
a.
Install flat washers (4) and align holes.

NOTE
Make sure that one washer is placed on each
side of hinge blade.
Insert cylindrical pins (3) in hinge blades (2).
c.
Secure cylindrical pins (3) using cotter pins (5).
d.
NOTE
Upon initial installation of a door, new
gasket, or new dog, the door should be
"chalk tested."
Perform chalk test as follows:

(1) Clean the knife edge of the closure frame.
(2) Apply a chalk line completely around the knife edge of door frame.
(3) Dog the door.
