REPAIR
Repair of bowl assembly consists of replacing regulating ring (5), gasket (4), preformed packing (9).
ASSEMBLY
a. Lubricate bowl lock rings (6, 7) and threads of bowl top (8) and bowl bottom (3). Refer to LO 55-1905-
223-12.
b. Install preformed packing (9) on bowl bottom (3).
c. Install bowl top on distributor with "O" marks on distributor and bowl top aligned with "O" mark on bowl
bottom. Make sure that guide bars of the distributor catches into the grooves of bowl tap.
CAUTION
Both lock ring (7) and (6) are left hand thread.
d. Install lock ring (7) on threads of bowl bottom by hand in counterclockwise direction then tighten it with
annular wrench. (Left hand thread). Tap against the wrench handle until the "O" marks on lock ring
and bowl top (8) are aligned. Do not slip a pipe over wrench handle to obtain leverage.
e. Install gasket (4) and regulating ring (5) on bowl top.
f. Install lock ring (6) on threads of bowl top by hand in counterclockwise direction then tighten it with
hook wrench. (Left hand thread). Tap against wrench handle until a slight resistance is felt. Do not
over tighten lock ring.
g. Loosen bowl lock screws (2) until bowl assembly can be turned by hand.
h. Set brake by turning handle (1) counterclockwise.
i. Replace hood assembly as specified in paragraph 2-20 .
