Clean the filter heads with a lint-free cloth.

Oil Filters (Full-Flow
and Bypass)-continued

Apply a light film of clean engine oil to the
gasket surface of the filters.

Fill the filters with clean oil.
e.
Install the new filters onto their filter
heads.
(1)
Hand tighten the filter until it contacts
the filter head surface.
(2)
Hand tighten an additional one-half to
three-quarter turn.
f.
Operate the engine and check for leaks.
NOTE
The old filter should be cut open
with a filter cutter and inspected.
Inspect the element for metal par-
ticles. If metal particles are
found in the element, direct sup-
port maintenance is required.

Air Filter
Replace air intake filter (para. 2-29).

Crank/Breather/Tube
Clean crankcase breather and tube. Refer to

Coolant Filter
Replace fluid filter. Refer to paragraph 2-27.
