Oil Filters - continued

Operate the engine and check for leaks.

NOTE

The old filter should be cut open with a filter cutter and inspected.

Inspect the element for metal particles. If metal particles are found in

the element, direct support maintenance is required.

Air Filter

a. Remove the air cleaner housing cover and remove the filter

NOTE

The air filter element may be cleaned several times by

using compressed air, or by washing with a non-sudsing

detergent and hot water, then drying with compressed

air.

b. Install a cleaned or new element, making sure that it seats

properly on the gasket end, and put the cover back on the

housing.
