MALFUNCTION

Uneven running or frequent stalling.

Step 1.

Check for low coolant temperature.

Check the engine coolant temperature gage and, if the temperature does not reach

160 to 185 F (71 to 85 C), while the engine is operating, consult the Abnormal

Engine Coolant Temperature Table 3-29.

Step 2.

Check for insufficient Fuel.

Check engine fuel spill back and if the return is less than 0.8 gallons per minute

with the engine at 1200 RPM, consult the No Fuel or Insufficient Fuel Table 3-25.
