MISCELLANEOUS MINOR HULL REPAIRS (DEFINITE) (CONTINUED)
6. Porthole Repairs:
Remove deteriorated gaskets from six (6) each, porthole, dead-light (only) covers.
Portholes are located throughout the vessel living compartments.
Clean all gasket recesses, furnish and install new, like-in-kind, gum rubber, gaskets, seated in waterproof
adhesive, in each deadlight cover.
7. Fire Plug, Strainer Repairs:

Poop Deck Level, Aft of Pilot
House, Port and Starboard Sides
Make the necessary disconnections and removals and remove the two (2) 1 1/2 inch self-cleaning strainers
from the vessel to the shop.
Overhaul and recondition each strainer for return to satisfactory operating condition.
Apply overall coat of red paint and reinstall aboard the vessel. Replace all missing and/or defective
fasteners.
Leave strainer and fire plugs ready for test and service intended.
8. Cable Straps:
Location:
Main Mast, from Poop Deck Level to Top of Mast
Gather the various, loose sections of electric cables into uniform runs and install twelve (12) each, evenly
spaced, flexible, stainless steel (3/4 inch wide) strapping bands around cable runs.
Strapping shall begin as near to poop deck level at bottom of mast an terminate as near to top of mast as
necessary. Machine banding securement, fastening will be required.
