e. The balance shaft front
bearings (26) (and thrust
washers "B" engines) may be
removed after taking out the
screws (27), and lockwashers
(28) that hold the bearings
to the end plate and cylinder
block. Pry under the bearing
flange with a suitable tool
if the bearing cannot be
withdrawn by hand.
NOTE
On the "D" engine the rear bearing (29), and thrust
washers (30) are removed when the shaft and gear
assembly is removed.
