Replace/Repair Rotary Pump (Dirty Lubricate Oil).
This task covers:
a. Removal, b. Repair, c. Replacement.
INITIAL SETUP
Equipment Condition
Tools
Tool kit, general mechanic's,
Electrical power to pump unit turned
OFF and tagged "Out of Service - Do
T o o l kit, electrician's,
Not Operate."
Appropriate valves closed and tagged
"Out of Service - Do Not Operate."
Materials/Parts
Rotary pump unit
P/N 20DR
Warning tags, Item 1, Appendix C
Close pump suction (3) and discharge (18) valves.
a.
Close pump relief valve (1).
b.
Disconnect discharge piping at union (17) on outlet side of pump.
c.
Disconnect suction piping at union (4) on inlet side of pump.
d.
Disconnect pump relief piping at connector (2).
e.
f.
Position pipe wrench on elbow (20) for counterclockwise rotation to remove
nipple (22) and valve (1) section from pump.
Remove two plain hex nuts (7), lockwashers (8) and hexhead capscrews (9)
g.
securing coupling guard (10) to baseplate (13). Remove coupling guard.
Remove four plain hex nuts (14), lockwashers (15) and hexhead capscrews (16)
h.
securing shaft bracket (6) to baseplate.
