Apply a coat of expansion plug sealant to the outside diameter of the expansion (cup) plug. Apply a

coat of the sealant to the inside diameter at the water hole.

Use the correct expansion plug driver to install the expansion plug (cup) plug.

NOTE

If you do not have expansion plug drivers you can use a mandrel of the correct

size to install the plug. Install the plug so it will be even with 0.090 inch (2.29

mm) below the bore chamfer, Figure 4-18. Do not push the plug to the bottom

of the counterbore.
