SECTION 1 INITIAL ASSEMBLY AND INSPECTION
2-1. GENERAL. This chapter describes the basic procedures for inflating and inspecting the F530 IBA
before use. A thorough understanding of the procedures in this chapter is necessary to ensure safe and
reliable F530 IAB operation. The basic inflation and inspection procedures are conducted in three phases:
preparation for inflation, inflation and serviceability inspection. Tools required for procedures in this
chapter include a half-moon spanner, a collar nut spanner and a plastic socket wrench.
PREPARATION FOR INFLATION.
a. Unpack F530 IAB
( 1 ) Remove the craft from its carrying bag and place it on a cleared area free of
sharp objects. Set the carrying bad aside.
( 2 ) With one person positioned at the bow and the other at the stern, unroll the
craft until fully extended.
( 1 ) Ensure boat is deflated.
( 2 ) Position element No. 4 (item 7) under the transom batten.
( 3 ) Position both bow elements No. 1 and No. 2 (item 1 and 2) in the bow. Ensure
keel is straight and centered under the bow skirt. First place the small bow
triangular piece, then the larger one. It may be easier to position the larger bow
board by pushing it into place from beneath thrustboard until it locks itself in
place.
( 4 ) Position element No. 1 (item 3) against the thrustboard.
