INTERCOMMUNICATING VALVE LEAKS
a. Unit Immediate Action. Immediate corrective action for intercommunicating valve leaks by
Unit personnel includes the following:
( 1 ) Tighten the valve cap firmly by hand
( 2 ) Pull the flywheel away from the craft slightly (air should be heard escaping) and
push it back into position quickly. Rotate the flywheel several times clockwise
and counterclockwise; then pull it away from the craft slightly and push it
quickly back into position. Verify that the flywheel-indicating arrow is returned
to the NAVIGATION area and pointed exactly at the 6 o clock position. These
actions are intended to correct any sticking in the overpressure release
mechanism.
( 3 ) Replace the valve cap with the spare valve cap provided with the repair kit. If
the spare valve cap is not available, remove the valve cap gasket from the
leaking valve cap, turn it over, grooved side to the cap, and reinstall it.
