fabricate new grab lines. Heat-seal or tape the ends of the strands to prevent unlaying while working with
the rope. Form the eye splices as shown in figure 7-7. After installation, heat-seal the exposed ends of all
stands to prevent the line from unlaying.

7-15. REPAIRING RIGID FLOORING SYSTEM. Repair of the rigid flooring system is accomplished by
certified repair technicians. Corrective maintenance of the rigid flooring system consists of replacing
damaged components and adjusting its fit to the craft. The rigid flooring system is installed with a
pressure fit between the thrust board and transom. The amount of pressure on the floorboards is
controlled by the flooring tightness measurement of the craft. This measurement should be checked and
adjusted as necessary whenever problems are experienced with the rigid flooring system.
7-16. REPAIRING CO2 INFLATION SYSTEM. Repair of the CO2 inflation system is accomplished by
direct support personnel. The CO2 inflation system receives scheduled maintenance annually and after
each use to inflate the craft. During scheduled maintenance, any worn or inoperable components are
replaced. The CO2 inflation system corrective maintenance follows the same procedures as the
scheduled maintenance. Repair consists of inspecting and replacing damaged and worn components.
The CO2 overpressure valves and CO2 inlet valves, which are a permanent part of the craft, are covered
separately as referenced below. Refer to the following paragraphs in their respective chapters when
performing corrective maintenance on the CO2 inflation system:
