TM 5-1940-321-13&P
( 2 ) Fuel consumption and amount needed for a specific operation depend on a
number of factors. Boat inflation pressure, speed, distance wave height, wind,
currents, and payload (including fuel), cleanliness of bottom, temperature, the
craft s and condition of the outboard engine affect fuel consumption. Fuel
consumption is difficult to predict. Operators should keep records for estimating
fuel consumption. These records should identify conditions that affect fuel
consumption and the amount of fuel consumed.
d. Loading. The F530 IAB must be properly loaded so weight of personnel, fuel, and equipment is
properly distributed. The craft trim will be incorrect if weight is not correctly distributed. Incorrect trim will
degrade performance. The maximum weight that can be carried is 3,770 pounds.
Shifting weight represents a safety hazard. All fuel tanks, equipment, and
cargo must be secured to the craft to prevent movement or loss overboard.
e. Securing Equipment. When the F530 IAB is fitted with the standard Rigid Flooring System,
has two aluminum channels, port and starboard, that runs the entire length of the floor panels. Sliding
floor runners with a push-button securing feature are available to fit in these channels to provide
attachment points for securing items to the craft. The lower grab lines (Figure 4-5) can be used to secure
light items.
