c. Towing. A four-point towing harness is provided with each F530 IAB. Four heavy-duty D-ring
towing points, two forward and two aft, are provided on each craft. The towing harness should be attached to
these D-rings.
Do not attempt to tow the craft by attaching a line to the bow handle.
Should the bow handle break loose, a tensioned nylon towing line has
sufficient stored energy to cause serious injury death. Towing points have
been provided.
( 1 ) The towing harness lines should be crossed as shown in figure 4-9. If the towing
harness is not available, two 25-foot lengths of 1/2 inch diameter nylon line or two

(a) Tie a figure-eight loop in both ends of the line.
(b) Attach one end to the forward towing D-ring of the F530 IAB to be towed and the
other end to the aft starboard towing D-ring point of the towing F530 IAB using a
small clevis or snap link.
(c) Repeat steps (a) and (b) with second line using the same method on opposite
sides so that the lines form an "X" as shown in figure 4-9.
