( 6 ) To remove the hose from the valve, first remove the thread wrapped over the hose
by unwinding it. Then using a hot air gun, heat the hose at the valve for
approximately 3 minutes. Exercise caution to avoid burning the hose. Direct the
heat gun on and off the hose to avoid damage from excessive heat.
( 7 ) Using a thin blade screwdriver, insert its blade between the hose and the metal
hose neck on the valve. Exercise caution to avoid cutting the hose. Twist the
screwdriver blade while pulling on the hose to disassemble the valve from the
hose. Exercise caution to avoid damage to the hose.
( 8 ) Prepare to install the new intercommunicating valve. Disassemble the new valve to
the level of the old valve. Do not mix parts of the new and old valve. Using a
dremmel tool with an aluminum oxide stone, roughen the outside of the hose neck
on the new valve. The entire surface should be rough. Remove all brass particles.
