NOTE:
The valve position must be marked before it is moved. This is to ensure that the
valve is returned to its original position. Position of the valve affects air flow
through the hose.
( 2 ) Using a half-moon spanner, remove the intercommunicating valve base nut by
turning it counterclockwise as shown in figure 7-14. Hold the threaded part to
prevent the valve from falling into the buoyancy tube. Using an indelible ink
pen, draw a straight line on the metal valve body and the buoyancy tube fabric.
This line will be used during reassembly to correctly position the valve.

( 3 ) Use the other hand to hold the valve by grasping it through the fabric.
