CAUTION
Avoid scratching the soft brass surface. Scratches on the mating surfaces
of the male and female portions of the valve will cause valve leaks.
( 5 ) Turn the valve flywheel (item 7 ) back and forth while pulling straight outward to
remove the male valve body (item 13). Exercise care to avoid having the spring
(item 12) and spring washer (item 11) fall into the buoyancy tube. (If it is stuck
and cannot be removed, see paragraph 7-18a). The valve spring and washer
will fall into the bottom of the male portion of the valve. If the stud is removed
with the locknut, refer to paragraph 7-18c.
