NOTE:
The neoprene valve insert base for the CO2 overpressure valve is glued to the inside of the
buoyancy tube. The following procedure adds an additional neoprene valve insert base on the
exterior of the buoyancy tube.
( 1 ) Deflate the compartment containing the damaged overpressure neoprene
valve insert base and remove the plastic overpressure valve and the flat
neoprene gasket using the plastic socket wrench.
( 2 ) Carefully cut the neoprene flange using a utility knife with a new blade. Work
carefully to avoid damaging the fabric. Best results are obtained by puncturing
the flange every 1/2-inch rather than attempting to use the normal back and
forth cutting motion.
( 3 ) Pull the cut portion of the neoprene valve insert base out of the buoyancy tube
using your index finger.
